That blend profiler was pretty nifty. We will have that capability when we get to the next phase of our website. We are excited about adding a public wiki to our site and that will very likely be the home of that program. I’m hoping for a widget type of function. But, to get to the stuff right now-we are writing really detailed blend descriptions—more than just the, “medium to heavy body with chocolate notes of cherry and..” we’re taking cupper’s notes as well. More to come. I’m working on food parings too. Thanks for speaking up!

Bring back the blend questionnaire/survey. I have recommended your brand to a lot of people but your survey is what hooked them into trying the coffee.

First impressions on the shipment of Organic Espresso I just received.
1. The box is signed with a note from Christian - wicked cool :P
2. The packaging is nice; a bit of extra space on top so you don't accidentally cut it to close to the well secured bendy thingies that let you close it back up.
3. Deep breath... ahhhhh... breathe... mmmm.... aroma, check
4. Great body and a bit lower acidity than expected, which for me is great.
I'm still enjoy this first cup, savoring it. *edit: enjoying second now.
Thanks to all for a very nice roast.

Thanks for the feedback Carol Anne!
I hear you and totally understand what you’re saying. We really struggled with the decision to go to 12-oz packaging. We had a lot of internal debate and finally faced the reality that this is where the industry had (already) gone. Grocery store shelves won’t accommodate anything larger and cafes prefer the size for their own retail sales.
At the same time we looked at the price and, yes, it is an increase. Fidalgo Bay Coffee hasn’t increased its prices in over 3 years. With the new product launch we jumped to $9.50 per 12-oz bag, a fair price for specialty coffee (most gourmet brands range $8.99 – $12.99).
We cupped hundreds of coffees, evaluated our best blends and picked our favorites to make the final cut. The result? Wholesale clients tell us we are roasting and blending our finest coffees ever!
We really appreciate your business over the years and hope you’ll continue to buy our coffee. We’re offering free shipping in June for on-line orders. (and yes, that includes Arizona!)
If you liked Roastmasters, I think you’ll love Islands Espresso Blend. Give it a try and let us know what you think.
Thanks again,
Darryl Miller

We have a winner! We put the number of entries into our random number generator and came up with 21, so Cigar Jack is the winner of one 12oz bag of coffee of his choice :)

We have been buying Fidalgo Bay Coffee ever since it was featured as the Grand Champion in several coffee categories in a "coffee-off" sponsored (and features in) The Seattle Times about 7 -8 years ago. We found the product in either Anacortes or Camano Island and were wowed by how terrific it was. We buy our beans at the Camano Plaza grocery and also enjoy lattes there. Both are the best. Since we winter in Arizona we take 10 lbs with us and restock when we come home for Christmas. We are exclusively - your customer and even invested in two fabulous latte machines for our homes - ours rival those made at the Plaza. Today we purchase our first new look bag of beans. We were thrown off by the new naming conventions - where is our Roastmaters Choice - and we liked the old shiny bag better than the new one. But most importantly we felt a bit dceived by the 25% reduction in weight yet the price only dropped 6% - calculate that out to a 26% increase per ounce - OUCH! You have us hooked on your great product - but what is your explanation as to the price increase and the shrinking of the beans per bag. Kudos to the Roasters - Boos to the Martketers at FBC.
